Disney Style!!!

Hi everybody! Long time, no see! 🙂

A few weeks ago, I went to Disneyland. I LOVE Disneyland. Seriously. Disneyland is my favorite place, probably in the entire universe. I love Disney. Period. Anything Disney, really – movies, characters, video games, tsum-tsums! (If you haven’t heard of them, they are adorable, and you really need to click on this link: Tsum-Tsums!!!)

First, here are some pictures I took on the trip! I also drew some Disney-inspired fashion! See if you can guess which Disney characters is the inspiration for each drawing! (I’ll include the answers at the bottom.)

Here are my drawings! Guess which character matches which drawing, and post how many you got right in the comments below! Also, tell me which one is your favorite!

  1. Daisy Duck
  2. Dumbo
  3. Goofy
  4. Queen of Hearts
  5. Alice in Wonderland
  6. Cheshire Cat
  7. Pocahontas
  8. Princess Jasmine
  9. Ariel, a.k.a. The Little Mermaid
  10. Tinkerbell

That’s all! Bye for now! (Hopefully) I’ll have some summer posts coming up soon, as there are only two weeks left of school! (YAY!)

Easter…Fashion Edition!

Hi everybody! I haven’t posted in sooooooooooo long! I’ve been super busy (as usual)!

Easter is in exactly a week! I LOVE Easter! It’s so fun and, as you have probably guessed, it definitely inspires me with fashion! 🙂

Anyway, spring starts tomorrow! Flowers have started popping up everywhere! They are SO pretty and I love them! These are some pictures I took this weekend of some flowers that are blooming. I like the purple one best! Which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comments!
All the flowers inspire floral printed fabric, like the ones below. Floral prints always become popular during this time of year!
I’ve noticed that pastel colors are also really popular at Easter time.
Lastly, these are some Easter-inspired sketches I made using a few different mediums. I drew the first one on my iPad and the other two are obviously on paper, using pencils. (The last one is my favorite.)
Well, that’s it! My fashion edition of Easter! I hope you liked it!

 Summer or Fall???

Hey everyone! It’s that in between time of year again, isn’t it? Not quite fall, not exactly summer. I, for one, definitely want to keep holding on to summer for as long as possible, but the weather just can’t decide it it’s autumn or summer. We’ve had two weeks of exactly the opposite where I live. One week of heat, getting up there in the nineties, even in the range of 100-105 a couple times, and then one week of cool weather, and it even sprinkled a tiny bit! It’s definitely starting to lean towards fall and winter now that October has started, but I still think the weather can’t decide what it is for good.

I started thinking about that, and then I got inspired to create the sketch below. The whole idea is that by itself, the dress is a cute, simple summer dress with an ombré effect. But if you add a jacket, leggings, and boots, it’s a perfect fall outfit!

Here are two more autumn inspired outfits, which I decided to leave black and white. The first one is all fall and no summer. It has a plaid cape-thingy and, of course, boots. The second one has a touch of summer in it, but just a little. It also has a sort of cape-thing, but this one is more like a shrug, which helps make the transfer between summer and fall. It would probably be better for a warmer autumn day, as opposed to a cold one. It too, obviously, would not be complete without boots. So what do you think?

This time of year is just so fun! It’s not too hot and not too cold, and the the leaves on the trees start to look really pretty, but one of the funnest things is the clothes! (After all, today is Style Sunday.)

During this time of year, I start to get excited about fall and winter. Even though I love summer, it’s still fun to put away all the tank tops and shorts to get out the sweaters, jeans, and especially BOOTS! Boots are probably one of the singular most awesome things about fall for me. If you haven’t already guessed, I LOVE boots! I can’t even tell you how much I love them – it would take up too much space. 🙂

What’s your favorite thing about fall? How about summer?

Hawaiian Style

Hi everyone! Welcome to Style Sunday! This post is really about two things (my trip and fashion), so maybe I should be posting it tomorrow, on Miscellaneous Monday, but I couldn’t wait! I just love Hawaiian fashion (and the entire culture), don’t you? With all the sarongs, bikinis, hula skirts, and plain old shorts and T-shirts, there’s an irresistible easy breezy, beachy vibe that you can’t deny, and it even shows up in the furniture!

IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Tropical Tantrum!
In Hanalei, we found a really cool boutique, which, as you can see, is called Tropical Tantrum! They had a lot of different dresses, shirts, scarves, purses, and even shoes, all in unique colorful prints!

Aren’t the clothes pretty?

Check out the beadwork on these!

So many colors!

And all the fabrics!
All of these fabrics started out white. Can you believe it? They were dyed, and then…voila! Beautiful!
Luau Kalamaku

We went to a luau, which was superfun! They had some stalls set up outside that were selling some very interesting Hawaiian things. My favorite was this table of colorful jewelry!

Everyone was given a lei made with pretty purple flowers.

The Many Faces of Kauai…

These first two pictures are from a hike we took that had a great view!

The waves crashing against the rocks were really pretty!

The beautiful Waimea Canyon…

That’s it! I hope you enjoyed my very first Style Sunday post! Yay!
P. S. Island sketches! The first three are Hawaii-inspired, and the last two are inspired by the luau we went to.

P. P. S. Hawaiian prints – which one is better? (Comment and tell me which one you like!)

Easter is Here!!! (Finally)

Happy Easter everybody!!! It’s finally here!! Yay! (Happy dance!) I designed these adorable dresses for Easter, but since it took so long to arrive, I got impatient yesterday, so I actually drew these the day before Easter, but it still counts, right? 🙂 I won’t keep you from your plastic eggs any longer…but when you open those eggs, remember that they really have a deeper meaning than plastic and candy. Opening the eggs symbolizes when Jesus rose from the dead after conquering death and the tomb was opened…but you can still put candy in them if you want! 🙂

P.S. This is what was left of the Peeps cake after Easter brunch…

Fashion Update Alert!!!

Hello, Readers!

This is a very important announcement about fashion! (Now I know you’re paying attention!) If I haven’t said it yet, I love to draw, especially fashion. Since I love to draw clothes, I’ve decided to try and include one of my sketches with a blog post as often as possible! Starting…NOW!
